The lens blocking pads is a double-sided, adhesive elastic gasket that is attached to the lens convex surface before the lens is edging, and the other end is connected to the suction cup or blocking block of the edging machine, thus holding the lens firmly on the processing equipment. During the high-speed rotation and polishing of the edging machine, the lens will be subjected to cutting forces and friction from multiple directions, and if there is no reliable fixation, the lens is very prone to displacement, shaft running and even edge chipping.

3. Protect the lens surface: The foam core layer of the blocking pad has a certain degree of cushioning and compliance, which can fit the lens surface with different curvatures, avoiding scratches or indentations caused by the suction cup directly touching the lens during processing. At the same time, it also protects the front surface of the lens during machining and prevents damage to the lens caused by grinding debris.
4. Adapt to a variety of lens materials and coatings: With the continuous abundance of lens materials (CR-39, polycarbonate, high refractive index resin, etc.) and the wide application of advanced coatings such as anti-reflection and superhydrophobic, ordinary adhesive materials have become difficult to adhere reliably. In this case, a blocking pad with a special adhesive can be used to ensure a strong bond between the various lens materials and coatings.
